Weekly figure drawing practice

Some gesture and a ballerina. Amping up the challenge a little with  some foreshortening. Not easy to make that read, but keeping having fun with it.

Sunday practice

Sunday figure drawing....

Monday, September 5, 2016

Hello pencil, I missed you.

It feels nice to hang out with drawing again after a long break. Whether expected or not, there`s always a benefit to stepping away from something so you can come back with a clearer  mindset. It`s taking me a while to get back into the flow of things, but I'm in no hurry...after all, if I need to do this to feel good about myself, I should be enjoying it and not feel forced!

Teenagers and children

I have been following this blog that posts beautiful ballet pictures. I found it's been a wonderful and challenging reference for my figure drawing practice in the past few weeks. This week, the blog featured younger dancers still in school. I  thought it would be fun to draw younger body types (all female for this week, but will draw male models soon for sure!)

Drawing to find calmness

When things are hectic all around you, small things help me find some sort of emotional balance again.  Drawing is one of these things.
